NV Registration Renewals (Drop-off Only)

Your vehicle registration will be processed by the Tahoe General Services Office and then mailed to you.

Vehicle registration renewals with payment can be dropped off at the Minden Clerk or Treasurer Office, and at the Tahoe General Services Building's outdoor drop box in Stateline.

Registration and/or Title

  • By appointment only at Tahoe General Services/DMV location.
  • VIN Inspections not provided at Stateline DMV

Newly-Purchased Vehicles

Purchased from a Nevada Dealer

  1. Dealer Report of Sale.
  2. Proof of NEVADA insurance (except trailers).
  3. Current odometer reading.

Purchased from an Out-of-State Dealer

  1. Dealer’s contract or lease agreement.
  2. Title or Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (if applicable).
  3. Proof of NEVADA insurance (except trailers).
  4. Vehicle Inspection Certificate (VIN Check).
  5. Nevada Sales Tax will be collected, unless proof that taxes were paid in another state is provided.
  6. Current odometer reading.

Purchased from a Private Party

  1. Title – If title was issued from any state other than Nevada, must obtain a Vehicle Inspection Certificate (VIN Check).
  2. Proof of NEVADA insurance (except trailers).
  3. Other documentation may be required depending on circumstances.
  4. Current odometer reading.

Out-of-State Transfer - Registering in NV with Same Owner

  1. Current out-of-state registration.
  2. Proof of NEVADA insurance (except trailers).
  3. Vehicle Inspection Certificate (VIN Check).
  4. Current odometer reading.

Handicap Placard

  • Disabled Persons License Plates and/or Placards (SP27) filled out and signed by applicant and physician.
